Lanky (the writer in my class) appears to be bald on the crown of his head, with wispy golden hair circling his scalp. His shimmering eyes glitter in the sun like aquamarine; what's more, the diet of vegetables makes his already giraffy frame as slim as a lamp-post. He is a sheer bookworm: one time, a school sewer pipe burst to waft out an overpowering, repellant stench; even so Lanky carried on reading “Treasure Island” on a bench by the burst pipe until a plumber shooed him off in a raucous voice. Because of his love for English language and literature, Lanky won the first place in the National Poetry Competition twice in two consecutive years - that was in a local newspaper. With an enormous compliment, the winning poems were chosen by the famous Roald Dahl who was the head judge of the competition. However, he is not loved by our class because Lanky always swaggers to the teacher's desk to grimace at classmates' writing whenever he can. I wish Lanky would meet his match to teach him a hard lesson.
