Write a story entitled "Hunger" - 13+ Entrance English Paper for Aldenham School
Gazing around at my situation, I frowned angrily. I felt dumbstruck; I had lost direct contact with my friends and my signal on my phone could not be picked up from where I was. I just sat in depression. I was slowly bobbing forwards but at a snail-like speed. I was running out of food and my stomach was already feeling queasy. Caw! Caw! Caw! I could hear the joyful seagulls with their beaks full of fish and their bellies larger than an elephant.
Clutching my stomach, I embraced another sensation of pain. Tears covered my face as I thought about my life and things I could have achieved if I didn’t participate in the stupid challenge my friends gave me. I could hear my body telling me to get off my small log raft and start swimming, but my stomach was in so much pain. I felt dizzy but knew I had to stay conscious to stay alive. As time passed on, my vision became more blurred and shivers and nightmares haunted me.
Since I had not eaten food in almost 7 days, my body started to change. I grew thinner and thinner and I could feel my organs cramping up in my minute body. This experience felt like someone opening up my belly with a knife and squeezing my organ tubes as hard as they could. My eyes started becoming bloodshed since I had to focus on my sense of direction to land, not my fatigue. Every night was cozy and comfortable for people living in their houses. Every night for me was freezing, and intolerable. My body was slowly shutting down and I knew it would give up on me in a few days…
