No way away!

Powerful wind is slapping my face. Splash! Splosh! Splash! Towering whitecaps collapse over me. I am soaked and shivery at a beach, breathing a deep sigh to see our vessel crashing against some rocky cliffs and shattering into pieces. Parts of the wreckage are being swept onto the shore. The high tidal waves are sweeping across the entire beach, leaving muddy sand behind. One of my fellow workmates needs to exert his whole body weight to push the horse cart forwards that is stuck in wet mud. I am heaving a heavy wooden trunk with another workmate holding the front end and me holding the back. The pain in my back is aching so much that I feel like my spine is about to snap. My arms need mending and miserable thoughts are going round and round in my head. Ouch!

In the meanwhile, the grown-ups are gazing out at the wreckage, with their eyes popped out with fright, while their daughter is tugging the mother’s dress in tears for a cuddle. She whines, reaching her arms out, “Hug! Hug!”

The mother moaned, “Not now baby!” She has her hands on head, mopping her face and swaying her head round and round while weeping. The father on the horseback with his son is telling him what has happened. Everybody is frowning with melancholy, except the dog that is playing in the mud joyfully.

Jet-black clouds are spreading away and the sun is beginning to shine again but they are not going anywhere but back to where they come from…
